Application Deadline Extended Again for ANCHOR Property Tax Relief Program

 
During the State of the State Address on January 17, 2023, Governor Phil Murphy announced the application deadline has been extended again for the new Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) property tax relief, The new application deadline is February 28, 2023. Also, tenants who had previously been ineligible because their units are under PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) agreements are now eligible to apply for the benefit.

TAX BILL MAILING ALERT

The Tax Office was notified this afternoon that there were mechanical issues at the facility printing the 2022 Final/2023 Preliminary Tax Bills.  Due to these issues, the tax bills were mailed today, August 1.  This mailing delay does not affect the extended grace period which ends August 26.  Any payment received after August 26 will accrue interest penalties from the statutory due date of August 1.


2022 Final/2023 Preliminary Tax Bill


Per N.J.S.A. 54:4-64, the grace period for 3Q 2022 payments has been extended to August 26th. Payments received after August 26th will accrue interest from the statutory due date of August 1st (N.J.S.A 54:4-6-66.3) to the date of payment.  Postmark is not recognized as the payment date.  Direct Withdrawal payments will be processed on August 19th.

2021 SENIOR FREEZE filing deadline

The application filing deadline for

the 2021 Senior Freeze ( Property Tax Reimbursement)  is October 31, 2022

Contact the Division of Taxation at 1-800-882-6597 (Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm with any filing questions.


Property Tax and PILOT payments are due February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1.  Auto-withdrawal Payments will be processed on the 6th day of the month they are due.  There is a 10-day grace period for all payments.  If payment is received after the grace period, interest will accrue from the statutory due date.  Postmark is not recognized as payment date.

Property tax payments can be mailed to the address noted below; paid through your bank’s bill paying service (please allow sufficient time for your payment to reach the Tax Office); placed in the drop box at the entrance of Town Hall - available 24/7; on-line at https://wipp.edmundsassoc.com/Wipp/?wippid=1320.

PILOT payments can be mailed to the address noted below; paid through your bank’s bill paying service (please allow sufficient time for your payment to reach the Tax Office); placed in the drop box, available 24/7, at the entrance of Town Hall.

Requests for 2020 Sr. Freeze PTR-1A or PTR-2A Forms can be made by calling the Tax Office or via e-mail.  If  e-mailing your request, please indicate if you need a PTR-1A or PTR-2A form; the name and address of the property; if you own 100% of the property either alone or with a spouse; if you own the property with someone other than a spouse, what % do you own.  We will print and mail the form when completed.
